A hidden cascade falls from the escarpment of Litchfield National Park…
There’s more to this landscape than pristine waterfalls and ochre rock, which are the typical draw cards for visitors and their photographs!
The gnarled bark of the Turkey Bush (Calytrix exstipulata and Calytrix brownii were both found here), the patterns and textures of the rocks, and the clumps of spinifex are just as much a part of Litchfield as its spectacular waterfalls.
These smaller details can be easy to overlook, but together they tell a much richer story of the landscape.
Part of my aim with photographs like this is to notice and celebrate those details – creating an image that captures not just a beautiful view, but gives a greater connection to place.
