Carving Through Country, Adelaide River
An aerial perspective is the best way to gain true perspective of the - almost unbelievable - path of the Adelaide River.
Weaving its way through the untamed landscapes of the Northern Territory, framed by floodplains, savannah, and sprawling creeks. I was drawn to the colour contrast between the green of the lush riverside with the red, scorched plains of the late dry season.
The river winds like a lifeline across the Top End, shapedover millions of years. Often spotted on the commercial flightpath in to Darwin - I know I am not the only person struck by the power of the river, forcing it’s way through the landscape. A serpent of the Top End!
This image captures the raw beauty and quiet power of nature—where water carves through earth, creating patterns, sustaining life, and connecting ecosystems in this vast, remote part of Australia. A tribute to the rhythm of the land and the enduring spirit of the Territory.
