Painterly at East Point

This Casuarina Tree appeared at the cliff edge a few years ago, growing slowly but steadily in the unlikely home in the clay-like rock.

The cliffs of East Point are a natural canvas - the porcellanite sandstone is red and purple, yellow and ochre. Streaked and swirled with white, the texture and shapes come alive in the best Darwin sunset light. A moody wet season sky provides the perfect backdrop - a dark contrast streaked with brushstrokes of vibrant colour that echos the colour of the rock.
